Seminyak is the most upmarket of the west coast's beaches, with
high-end accommodation and mostly high-end restaurants and bars
to serve its residents. The atmosphere is more rural and laid-back
than Kuta, and the beach in particular is much quieter during the
day, although this area too is developing fast.
Having all of all happenings as magnet to forreigners both tourists
as well as residents, the are has become the main expatriate hub
of the island, and unofficially referred to as the Western capital
of Bali.
The area is actually an extension to the North of the famous bustling
Kuta and Legian. With all of the current ongoing holiday developments,
the area is now extended up north towards Tanah Lot, completing
the miles of golden sandy beach spanning alongt the South-West coast
from Jimbaran on the South-end and Tanah Lot on the North-end.
New insfrastructure developments make Seminyak enjoy central location
to explore the whole island, thou it is actually sit on the South-West
coast.
As a growing holiday destination, most of villas in Seminyak are
smaller self-contained private villas in a fully managed compond,
mostly with one to three bedrooms. These villas are more to better
alternative to resort hotels offering total privacy, than a destination
villa where you spend most of your time inside.
